The University of Rochester Medicine opened its new $227M orthopedics and physical performance surgery center.

This is the largest off-site building project in University of Rochester history, according to NBC affiliate WHEC 10.

The new facility offers eight operating rooms, three procedure rooms, and an imaging center for MRIs, CT scans and X-rays.

Operating rooms will include state of the art motion sensing equipment.

The second phase of the project is slated for completion by the end of this year.
