UPMC Heart Institute Receives $7.5M Gift

UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation announced a $7.5 million gift from Acrisure, making it the largest corporate gift ever received by the foundation.

The gift will support the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, which is one of the top-ranked cardiology and heart surgery programs in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.

“This is a significant milestone for the foundation, the hospital, and most importantly, for the children and families receiving care within the Heart Institute,” said Rachel Petrucelli, president of UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Acrisure’s decision to help our hospital advance care and cures for heart patients was made with the utmost care, and with a sincere ambition to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”

The donation from Acrisure will enable the Heart Institute to elevate clinical care, research, and the patient experience for children and families who live locally, and for families from around the world who travel to UPMC for the expertise of the Heart Institute. Read more.
