“The one company that we know is going to IPO and everyone's looking at is Waystar,” said Sofia Guerra, vice president at venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners. “Everyone's kind of waiting to see how that's going to go.”

KKR tops the list. The company acquired Envision in October 2018 for $9.9 billion and Covenant Physician Partners in 2017. 

Outpatient service providers such as outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and doctor’s offices are seeing significantly greater demand and are increasingly attractive investments.

Several major deals have been announced this year, including Kaiser Permanente’s plans to acquire Geisinger Health, the Pennsylvania system.

Large provider groups have gained 30% more market share in just four years, a trend that shows no signs of slowing.
