Aspirus officials announced Monday morning the health care system has officially acquired Ascension facilities in central and northern Wisconsin, which include seven hospitals, 21 physician clinics and Spirit Medical Transport, the Wausau Daily Herald reports.
Matt Heywood, president & CEO of Aspirus Inc., said the acquisition will help the hospital system continue to provide health care services to people in rural communities, which face challenges like recruiting and retaining employees in the field. Read more.
