Accountable care organizations don’t reduce costs and in some cases raise them, according to a study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
The study looked at financial performance data from the four CMS ACO programs from 2005 to 2018. Savings when they did occur were, at most, a few tenths of a percent. Read more.
