Pediatric Hospital Coming to Staten Island as NYC Makes $125M Investment: Report

A city-funded new long-term public pediatric hospital on Staten Island will serve some of the most medically vulnerable children, city officials announced, SI Live reports.

Kids born severely premature and with debilitating conditions like spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions will be able to receive treatment at the hospital, Dr. Mitch Katz, president and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals, said during Mayor Bill de Blasio’s media briefing.

The $125 million capital investment will be used for construction of an 80-100 bed facility. Read more
