Cherokee Nation Plans New Hospital in Tahlequah, OK: Report

The principal chief of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma called today for a plan to build a medical facility to replace W.W. Hastings Hospital, and begin investment toward a behavioral health network, Cherokee Phoenix reports.

W. W. Hastings opened in 1936 on what has since been annexed into Northeastern State University Campus, according to Cherokee Nation Health Services. In 1984 the hospital moved to its current location and has undergone several expansion projects to serve the growing patient population. Read more.
