Vanderbilt to Seek Approval for New Hospital Near 8-Bed Ascension Facility: Report

Nashville-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center expects to file an amended plan for a 42-bed hospital in Murfreesboro, TN, the Daily News Journal reports.

If approved by state regulators, the medical center’s $144.3 million facility would be  close to an eight-bed hospital planned by Nashville-based Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford.

Vanderbilt’s proposal for a 48-bed hospital was rejected by state officials last year in favor of the smaller Ascension facility.

If the amended plan is approved, Vanderbilt Rutherford Hospital would include an emergency room, intensive care unit, obstetrics, surgeries and cardiac catheterization services. Read more.
