Tower Health Denied Tax Exemptions for 3 PA Hospitals

A Chester County, PA, judge denied Tower Health’s effort to receive property tax exemptions for three of its Pennsylvania hospitals, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Tower Health sought exemptions for Brandywine Hospital, Jennersville Hospital and Phoenixville Hospital. The three hospitals are west of Philadelphia, and were acquired in 2017 from for-profit Community Health Systems. 

In the decision to deny the exemptions, the court said operations at the three Tower Health facilities have become too similar to for-profit facilities. Read more.
