Tower Health to Close 2 PA Hospitals After Sale Falls Through

In a memo sent to employees Thursday morning, Tower Health CEO P. Sue Perrotty said the deal to sell Jennersville and Brandywine hospitals in Chester County had fallen through, The Times Herald reports.

She said Tower will resume the closure process of Jennersville by Dec. 31 and will close Brandywine by Jan. 31.

The move will not only hit hospitals but Tower Health Medical Group practices, the memo said. It is unclear which ones would be winding down.

Perrotty said the buyer that Tower had announced before Thanksgiving, Texas-based Canyon Atlantic Partners, has been unable to demonstrate that it is capable of making an effective transfer of ownership and operation of the two hospitals. Read more.
