Galesburg Cottage Hospital closed Saturday, The Register-Mail reports in Illinois.
The locked doors have sheets of paper with Cottage letterhead that say “Galesburg Cottage Hospital is temporarily closed.”
In an email sent to Cottage personnel and to The Register-Mail Saturday, Cottage CEO Sanjay Sharma said, “While we disagree with the findings and decision, the recent notice from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has made it necessary to temporarily suspend all services at Galesburg Cottage Hospital effective immediately.”
On Friday, Cottage Hospital employees received a letter from Sharma letting them know their jobs are being eliminated. Read more.
