Largest Donation in University of Iowa History Will be Used for New Patient Care Tower

The largest-ever donation to the University of Iowa will funnel $70 million toward the creation of a new patient care tower in Iowa City, the Des Moines Register reports.

The total cost of that building — part of a larger set of projects in the works at the university hospital system — is still unknown. But the donation from the Richard O. Jacobson Foundation is expressly to be used to build the new tower.

The health system announced in November it is planning $300 million in bond sales to hlep finance the project. Read more.
