Cottage Hospital in Illinois on Verge of Losing License

The Illinois Department of Health has filed to revoke Galesburg Cottage Hospital’s license, although it’s unlikely the facility will be used again as a hospital, The REgister Mail reports.

The notice of revocation, dated Feb. 18, alleges that the department conducted an investigation of Cottage Hospital and found it in violation of numerous codes relating to safety rules, patient care, physical facilities, staffing, nursing and personnel records.

The notice shows that Cottage Hospital submitted a plan of correction on Jan. 7 and again on Jan. 13, but both plans were found unacceptable by the IDPH as they failed to address the ongoing violations first investigated by the department starting Dec. 13, 2021. Read more.
