Anonymous Donor Gives $1M to Struggling Thomasville Regional Medical Center

The struggles to receive federal funding at Thomasville Regional Medical Center continue, but this week the facility is in much better standing thanks to an anonymous donation, WKRG reports.

Mayor Sheldon Day tells the news station that the hospital received a $1 million donation from an anonymous donor to help keep the medical facility operating while officials work to receive the federal funding they believe they’re entitled to.

As of March 2022, Thomasville Regional Medical Center staff said they’ve only received $1 million of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, or H.H.S., through their Provider Relief Fund. The hospital said last month it needed $7 million to stay afloat. Read more.
