Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health will form a $27 billion health system spanning seven states, making it the sixth largest health system in the country, the not-for-profit providers announced today.
This is Atrium Health’s largest commercial deal to date — a strategic combination with Illinois and Wisconsin’s Advocate Aurora Health hospital system.
If approved by regulators, the merger would move Advocate Aurora’s headquarters from Chicago and Milwaukee to Charlotte, North Carolina, where Atrium Health is based, Modern Healthcare reports.
The system is expected to generate combined revenue of more than $27 billion. It will operate under the Advocate Health name, with the locally used Advocate, Aurora and Atrium Health brands. Read more.
