With no money changing hands and hospital ownership being retained by the legacy systems in the proposed Advocate Aurora Health-Atrium Health joint operating agreement, it might have seemed like a state board meeting earlier this week would have been a no-brainer, reports Crain’s Chicago Business. However, the Illinois Health Facilities & Services Review Board thought otherwise, delaying a vote and asking Advocate Aurora officials for more details on what “Advocate Health Inc.” would look like. At issue for the state review board members are questions about who will be in control and make the ultimate decisions once Advocate Health Inc. becomes a multistate hospital giant with one foot in the Midwest and one foot in the Southeast.
