Kaiser Permanente plans to expand into Folsom, CA, saying that it will build a comprehensive care center featuring a surgery center, an urgent care clinic and more than 90 clinical offices, The Sacramento Bee reports.
The proposal makes Kaiser the third major health system to announce an expansion in the city over the past two years.
Kaiser members will be able to access a variety of care at the new 260,000-square-feet facility: adult and family medicine, imaging, mental health, pharmacy, physical therapy, oncology, and more.
Kaiser leaders said they do not have a timeline for opening the comprehensive care center because they are still going through the approval process. They did not provide an estimate on construction costs.
The four-story care center will sit on a property adjacent to the Folsom Ambulatory Surgery Unit that Kaiser Permanente built roughly 15 years ago. Company leaders estimated the new facility would bring 400 permanent jobs to the local economy. Read more.
