Cleveland Clinic Receives $30M Gift from Mandel Foundation

The Cleveland Clinic has announced a $30 million gift from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, Philanthropy News Digest reports.

The gift will establish the endowed Morton L. Mandel CEO Chair and the Morton L. Mandel Innovation Fund, both named for Mort Mandel, who died in 2019 at the age of 98. Tom Mihaljevic, the current Cleveland Clinic president and CEO, will become the inaugural holder of the chair, and the fund will be used to support the CEO’s vision. Previous gifts from the Mandel Foundation include $23 million in 2019 to establish the Global Leadership and Learning Institute and support the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Global Leadership and Learning Pathway.

“The Cleveland Clinic has already been innovative in many areas of medicine,” said Mandel Foundation president and CEO Jehuda Reinharz. “This, we hope, will enhance medical breakthroughs and will contribute to the health of not only patients in Cleveland, but truly in the entire world.” Read more.
