New England Patriots Owner Donates $50M to Mass. General Hospital


New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his family’s foundation are giving a historic gift in support of community health and health equity to Massachusetts General Hospital, a founding member of Mass. General Brigham.

The $50 million donation is the largest gift of its kind in the hospital’s 211-year history, reports WCVB.

Hospital officials said much of Kraft’s gift will be used to create a permanent Robert K. Kraft Endowed Chair in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion addressing health disparities in clinical care at MGH. A portion of the new donation will be used to grow the endowment for the Kraft Center for Community Health, which was first established in 2011 with the goal of developing scalable solutions to community health problems.
