Connecticut First Lady is a Major VC Healthcare Investor

One of the nation’s leading healthcare investors is also the first lady of the state of Connecticut, per Becker’s.

Annie Lamont, the wife of Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, works for venture capital firm Oak HC/FT, whose portfolio includes primary care firm Village MD; dieting app Noom; home healthcare company DispatchHealth; and palliative care provider Aspire Health.

Her healthcare investing strategy? “More access, higher quality, lower cost,” she told the news outlet.

She pointed to VillageMD as an example of that approach. The company, which is majority owned by Walgreens, has providers spend extra time with patients to coordinate care and chooses specialists based on value rather than payer networks.
