Maryland’s Atlantic General Hospital Hit with Ransomware Attack

Atlantic General Hospital experienced what’s being called a ransomware event Monday afternoon.

A hospital spokesperson told 47 ABC that the cause of the disruption is being investigated. Network outages did occur but patient interruption was reportedly limited. The hospital ER is continuing to receive and treat patients and will continue to service elective surgeries and other outpatient procedures.

Atlantic General Health System offices remain open and all services are operational, with the exception of RediScripts, the hospital outpatient walk-in lab, and pulmonary function testing and outpatient imaging.
