Next Move Healthcare acquired Prime Surgical Associates, a Kansas City-based specialty surgical staffing firm. This is the first acquisition for Next Move Healthcare, which also owns travel nurse staffing provider Next Move.
The acquisition of Prime Surgical Associates will bring Next Move Healthcare into the perioperative and surgical staffing space. After the COVID-19 pandemic brought nearly all elective surgeries to a halt in 2020 and reduced volume in 2021, demand rebounded in 2022 and is expected to surge in 2023 and beyond. OR/surgery is responsible for up to 70% of most hospital’s revenues, but more than 64% of those same providers are dealing with staffing shortages on surgical teams
