U.S. Dermatology Partners, one of the largest dermatology groups in the country, announced the opening of its 100th location in Sulphur Springs, Texas. The new location is part of the organization’s Outreach Program, which is aimed at providing dermatological care to underserved and rural communities.
During the next three years, 30 new offices will be opened in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, and Virginia, the company said.
The Sulphur Springs practice will offer access to dermatology and skin cancer treatments to patients in Hopkins County, addressing the long-standing healthcare inequities that exist in rural areas.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), individuals living in rural areas face a greater likelihood of premature death from illnesses such as skin cancer, underscoring the significance of initiatives that bring healthcare services and specialists closer to home. Through the Outreach Program, U.S. Dermatology Partners is working to eliminate the long-standing challenges that patients in rural areas face, such as extensive wait times and having to travel long distances to receive care in urban and suburban areas.
