UnitedHealthcare in a press release said despite its “repeated efforts” to reach a compromise, it was unable to renew a contract with Northeast Georgia Health System. As a result, NGHS’ hospitals, facilities and its physicians are now out of network for UHC’s employer-sponsored and individual plans.
UHC said the Georgia system refused to move off its demand for a more than 20% price hike over the next three years, including a double-digit rate increase in the first year.
