Intelligent Medical Objects, a Rosemont medical data firm that took a $1.5 billion private-equity deal last year, is buying a Texas-based artificial intelligence startup, a move it says will help it expand to more health care segments, Crain’s Chicago Business reports.
Intelligent Medical Objects purchased Melax Technologies, which has built an AI-powered software that extracts patient medical information from laboratory data, CAT and MRI scans, and other sources. That data is used for research and clinical workflows by Melax’s more than 650 clients, including pharma companies and hospitals.
