Feds Refuse to Forgive $10M Loan that Kept a Syracuse Hospital Afloat When Pandemic Hit

The federal government is refusing to forgive a $10 million loan Crouse Hospital received in 2020 so it could keep paying employees in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Syracuse.com reports.

Crouse says in federal court papers it does not have the money to repay the Paycheck Protection Program loan and it would be “catastrophic” if the hospital is forced to do so. The hospital has filed suit against the U.S. Small Business Administration. Read more.
