Louisiana Spending Bill Includes $311M for Hospitals

A spending package that includes $311 million in funding for Louisiana hospitals cleared the state’s Senate Finance Committee, amid tens of millions of dollars for other projects, Nola.com reports.

The hospital funding can be released only if the House lifts a state spending cap, according to the report.

Once the Senate approves the budget, it moves to the House, which can either accept or reject the upper chamber’s changes before moving the bills to Gov. John Bel Edwards’ desk. The legislative session ends on Thursday. Read more.
