Valley Health Delays Opening of $868M New Jersey Hospital Until Next Year

The original opening was targeted for December, but the health system decided to push it back to a time when patient volume is lower. The delayed opening will also allow for enhanced staff training, the system said. Construction completion was originally planned for July but has now been put moved to September.

The construction of the new seven-story hospital in Paramus, N.J., spanning approximately 875,000 square feet, has reached 90 percent of construction billing as of May 30, the system said.

An additional $35 million was approved for the overall budget in March for new patient rooms and more treatment rooms.
