University of Texas Officials Unveil Plans for Multibillion-Dollar Medical Center in Austin

The University of Texas System announced an estimated $2.5 billion investment toward the “University of Texas at Austin Medical Center,” with plans to develop two new hospitals at the medical center, including one for cancer treatment, estimated to be completed by 2030.

The medical center would include two hospital towers: one operated by UT Austin as a specialty hospital, and the other as the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Groundbreaking for the hospitals is set to begin in 2026, CBS Austin reports. Read more.
