East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Reaches $1.55M Settlement in Data Breach

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH) agreed to pay $1.55 million to resolve claims that it failed to prevent a 2022 data breach.

The settlement benefits all individuals whose private information was compromised in the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital data breach in March 2022, Top Class Actions reports.

The data breach class action lawsuit claims that ETCH should have taken reasonable measures to prevent a data breach. The hospital’s alleged failure to implement security measures and other protections led to the data breach, the plaintiffs contend.

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is a 152-bed hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.

ETCH hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the case. Read more.
