Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate Launches $6M Campaign to Build Pediatric Cancer Unit in SC

Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate plans to construct a new pediatric cancer and blood disorders unit.

The “Inspire Courage” capital campaign was launched by the hospital Sept. 14 to raise $6 million for the new unit.

Around $3.8 million has already been raised for the campaign, including a $1 million gift from Hogs for the Cause, a nonprofit barbecue competition and festival based in New Orleans. Swig & Swine and Home Team BBQ – which has a Greenville location – are two South Carolina restaurants that participate in the festival and raise money for the cause.

Construction of the new unit is slated to begin in early 2024 and will take approximately two years to complete. Read more.
