Baptist Memorial Health Care announced plans to merge with Meridian-based Anderson Regional Health System in Mississippi. The deal is expected to be completed in January.
Anderson has two hospitals, a cancer center and a network of clinics that serve east Mississippi and west Alabama, reports ABC affiliate WAPT.
“Together, we have more than two centuries of combined health care experience, and we want to use this knowledge and expertise to bring a new level of care to this community,” said Baptist President and CEO Jason Little.
The merger means Memphis-based Baptist will be the health care provider for more than half of all Mississippians. Read more.
