Providence Unveils Plans to Build New $200M Hospital in El Paso

When The Hospitals of Providence opened an expansion at its East campus, in the summer of 2022, all 30 beds were filled by noon of the ribbon-cutting day.

So it comes as no surprise that Providence is gearing up for another big expansion in Far East El Paso, just a few miles away from its eastside hospital.

Tasha Hopper, CEO of The Hospitals of Providence East campus, is overseeing the building of a medical office facility and eventual hospital in the fast-growing Eastlake area. She and Nico Tejeda, western group president for Tenet Healthcare, spoke with El Paso Inc. last week, about their plans for the new hospital.

Tenet has invested about $250 million in El Paso’s Eastside since 2008, including the East campus and an advanced care facility in Horizon City, which will remain open after the Eastlake facilities are built. Read more.
