The Baldwin Village Board in Wisconsin discussed financing for a new emergency services building during its monthly meeting, the Baldwin Bulletin reports.
One of the big hurdles is whether the Village will take on all the costs or if the townships/municipalities that make up United Fire and Rescue and Baldwin Area EMS will help foot the bill.
If the Village was 100% responsible for the costs, on a 20-year payment plan yearly payments would be around $600,000, while on a 40-year loan the figure would decrease to $420,000.
At issue is whether and how much surrounding communities that would be served by the facility might contribute to its construction — a concern often facing municipalities throughout the country. Read more.
