Memorial Medical Center’s name will change to Springfield Memorial Hospital on Oct. 1, and Memorial Health System’s name will be simplified to “Memorial Health,” as part of a rebranding the system’s leaders say better reflects its coordinated, regional operations, The State Journal-Register reports.
The rebranding will cost at least $3.85 million for the system, which posts $1.4 billion in annual revenue and employs 8,800 people in central Illinois. That cost, which includes new signage, breaks down to about $400,000 annually, or about one-quarter of 1% of the hospital’s annual expenses.
Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville will be known as Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital will be known simply as Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Read more.
