Mon Valley Hospital in PA Becomes Penn Highlands Mon Valley After Deal Closes

Monongahela Valley Hospital has officially joined DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare following regulatory reviews, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The 200-bed Mon Valley Hospital — now called Penn Highlands Mon Valley — is the seventh hospital acquired by the 10-year-old system and its first hospital in southwestern Pennsylvania. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In addition to hospitals, Penn Highlands runs a home care agency, two long-term care facilities and a senior residential living facility. Penn Highlands employs about 4,700 people at 120-plus locations in 13 counties. Read more.
