United Memorial Medical Center in Houston was on the brink of losing a critical contract, but the hospital is getting a second chance, ABC13 reports in Texas.
UMMC, which has four Houston-area locations, has been informed that its Medicare and Medicaid contract would be extended through Jan. 11, pending a follow-up inspection.
The contract was initially set to end Dec. 11, CMS wrote in a legal notice, citing the medical center’s failure to meet the minimum health and safety standards required for Medicare program participation. Read more.
