The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MEDPAC) plans to recommend that the U.S. Secretary of Health & Human Services require hospices to report telehealth visits on Medicare claims, Hospice News reports. The commission will also recommend to Congress that Medicare base payment rates hold at current levels for 2023, and repeated its call to cut hospice aggregate cap by 20%.
MEDPAC indicated that a lack of telehealth utilization data during the pandemic has made it difficult to accurately predict costs for coming years. Read more.
