Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s purchase of Mercy Health-Children’s Hospital is complete, The Columbus Dispatch reports in Ohio.
Nationwide Children’s assumed control of the Toledo-based hospital Tuesday, a little more than a year after announcing the purchase. The purchase, which was announced in December 2020 for an undisclosed amount, follows a two-year partnership between the hospitals and a months-long transition process, according to Nationwide Children’s.
The health care goal of the acquisition is to make sure that children in the Toledo area have broader local access to procedures and therapies without having to travel to Columbus. Some intensive procedures may still have to be done at Nationwide Children’s main campus. Read more.
