Stanford Children’s Health and John Muir Health have extended their health care operating agreement to 2032 to further deepen a partnership that continues to meet the unique needs of pediatric and neonatal patients in the East Bay. The agreement provides John Muir Health pediatric patients with high-level care that is not only local but also supported by a top-10-rated children’s hospital in the nation if a higher level of care is required.
Stanford Children’s Health and John Muir Health first began the partnership in pediatric urology before adding a number of surgical and medical services in 2012. The collaboration expanded to include outpatient, inpatient, neonatal, and emergency care; and in 2015 the two health organizations opened Contra Costa County’s first pediatric intensive care unit.
