Canyon Atlantic Ends Pennsylvania Hospital Litigation with Tower Health

The prospective buyer of two closed Chester County hospitals in Pennsylvania has officially ended litigation in Common Pleas Court to try to force the facilities’ current owner to sell the properties so it could reopen them, reports The Daily Local.

Tower Health initally intended to sell the hospitals to Canyon Atlantic in January, but backed out of the deal and claimed Canyon Atlantic was unable to show it could effectively take ownership.

The move means that for the foreseeable future, the county will be without two medical facilities that served thousands of residents and employed hundreds of people in the medical community.

A Pennsylvania judge ordered Tower Health to restart the sale last month, but Canyon Atlantic failed to post the $1 million bond required for the sale by the deadline.

West Grove-based Jennersville Hospital closed Dec. 31. Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville closed Jan. 31. Read more.
