ChristianaCare Gets Funding to Reopen Shuttered Hospital in PA

ChristianaCare has received a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services to help reopen Jennersville Hospital, which it acquired from West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health in July, the Philadelphia Business Journal reports.

Wilmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare will use the $2.5 million grant — including $1.5 million from the American Rescue Plan Act and $1 million from the state — for hospital renovation costs and to develop outpatient services at its new ChristianaCare West Grove campus in Jennersville, PA.

The health system spent $8 million to acquire the 63-bed hospital, which has been closed since Dec. 31. Read more.
