Tower Health, Penn Medicine Call off Alliance

Tower Health and Penn Medicine in a statement said they have mutually agreed to no longer pursue the strategic alliance between the two health systems.

“Under current market conditions, both organizations feel it is necessary to focus on their individual organizational goals and community needs,” the statement said. “While we will not move forward with a formal strategic alliance, Tower Health and Penn Medicine will continue to work together in areas of mutual interest and to improve patient access to high quality healthcare.”

The financially troubled Tower Health earlier this month said it hopes to cement a deal to sell 17 of its urgent care centers in the coming months. Read more.
