The Fulton County Board of Commissioners has approved an $11 million payment to Grady Memorial Hospital ahead of the closure of the Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), awarded the bulk of the grant money — $44.8 million — to opioid-use disorder (OUD) treatment.

Under the federal Cancer Moonshot initiative, the TRACE program is focused on how best to use and sustain telehealth to provide cancer-related care.

The New York-based Upward was one of 22 providers to receive a contract for the High Needs Population ACO.

The Stuart, VA hospital that closed in 2017 has an aggressive timeline of being reopened in 2023 with the help of a bipartisan effort between Virginia officials and a $600,000 check.

The funds will be going to new states and territories, increasing the total number of states and territories participating in MFP to 41.

The investment will help nine facilities across the state.

Funding will come through the Health Resources and Services Administration.

The Pajaro Valley Healthcare District Project has worked to acquire the hospital out of bankruptcy court for about $67 million.

The hub for this grant will be located at the newly opened Children’s National Research & Innovation Campus – the site of the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
