Lee Health this summer is opening an outpatient cancer clinic in Bonita Springs, FL, making it easier for patients to get chemotherapy and see physicians closer to where they live.
An 18,000-square-foot surgery center that’s been closed at Bonita Health Center is being remodeled to serve as the cancer clinic.
The clinic is projected to provide 30,000 infusions a year and 12,000 physician visits.
Once the remodeling is complete and the state gives the approval to open in late July or early August, Lee Health will turn its focus to plans for a similar cancer center in Cape Coral, according to Chris Simoneau, chief development, marketing and communications officer at Lee Health, Naples Daily News reports.
